KCAC Programs

The Kilauea Community Agricultural Center has a number of programs from Farmers Market boxes to our Internship Program. Explore our programs to learn more.

Farmers Market Boxes

Since the COVID-19 pandemic we have made over 60,000, 10# farmers market boxes. During the pandemic we purchased most of the locally grown produce but we are proud to say that for the past year and a half KCAC has grown 85% of the fruits and vegetables needed for the boxes.

Not only does the donation dollars go to feed our community, but it is also allowed us to grow our staff, understand the infrastructural needs associated with production and is teaching the next generation how to become an entrepreneurial farmer.

This is the program that has provided the most impact and we are happy to join forces with Hawaii Independent Food Bank. They will be sponsoring 100 boxes a week for the foreseeable future and we are still looking for long term sponsors to make this an on going program at AHK and KCAC.

Becoming a Protector of Kilauea

Being a Kia’i Kilauea means you have undergone training to learn and understand the cultural, spiritual, and environmental knowledge of our home.

You can become a Kia’i Kilauea after the proper training and have financial opportunities to be a guide, a mentor, or an educator.

Kilauea-Club (K-Club)

Joining the K-club not only allows you to have access to our meats and fish but also to added-value products like bacon and sausage.

It will also provide you with a VIP status when using our facilities or participating in special events. As a member, we will know if you need support getting discounted foods or receiving our community outreach services.

Internship Program

The program design is an interactive learning experience connected to real-world farming. The purpose of this internship program is to help individual’s transition from their current situation into a full or part-time farming opportunity.

It also teaches our local youth about agriculture while simultaneously creating a connection to place, the community, ‘aina, and culture for a bright future where economics and sustainability are living models.
