COMMUNITY FARM UPDATE
We just wanted to say thank you to all our CSA members for their continued support that they have provided us all year. It is with your support that we have a new irrigation system, new tools, and are excited to announce our ability to double our subscriptions for next season. Tell your friends to sign up as we already have 6 people on the waiting list for next season. Check out our website for more info and to sign up. Special Mahalo to our current CSA members as we have been plagued with bad weather all year long from April flood to our near miss Hurricanes and our July flood. The greenhouses were the worst hit and we have not been able to produce the cucumbers and tomatoes the way we usually do. We also were very challenged with Black Rot disease and how it affects all the Brassica Family, (Kale, Bok Choi, Cabbage, Broccoli, Kohlrabi) but we are moving into a new area and we hope to have better success and more variety in the boxes.
We look forward to our new Green House that will allow us to pull off cucumber and tomato rain or shine. As our needs are growing, we want to remind people of the opportunity to come and volunteer. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, 8-12 AM. Bring your Ohana, come once, come every week, and make KCAC a part of your life. So overall we are excited for the end of this season and the start of next season to continue providing food from the Aina and continue to grow our ability to serve more people. Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo.
